Through civic action and community, we stand together to prevent overreach, ensure oversight, and protect all of our neighbors. Join us to make your voice heard and ensure Thornton remains a secure, free, and united community for everyone!

Thornton For All is a non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to ensuring that true community safety never requires sacrificing personal privacy or the constitutionally protected freedoms of anyone in our neighborhoods. Through civic action and community, we stand together to prevent overreach, ensure oversight, and protect all of our neighbors.
No, we are non-partisan and do not endorse or work for political campaigns as an organization. Members are free to do political work outside of our formal organization and efforts.
We are Thornton citizens who unite around common goals to improve our city for all of our neighbors. While we may not agree on every issue, we all want to see Thornton and its citizens thrive.
We are actively organizing community efforts to remove unchecked Flock Safety cameras from Thornton. We believe that mass surveillance programs without strict oversight open the door to government overreach and compromise the privacy of every single person who calls Thornton home. We routinely mobilize the community to pack City Council meetings and demand accountability regarding these systems.
No. We advocate for the protection of the public and believe that community safety and civil liberties go hand-in-hand. We support establishing clear rules for law enforcement that safeguard privacy and strengthen public trust, without compromising public safety or real-time emergency response. We simply insist that these tools operate under clear constitutional boundaries, necessity, and proportionality.
Our goal is to ensure Thornton remains a secure, free, and united community for everyone.
Mass surveillance systems that share data by default beyond our law enforcement organizations raise major concerns for our privacy, civil liberties, and the safety of our neighbors. These surveillance technologies can indiscriminately photograph every passing vehicle on public roadways, and a warrant is not required by law enforcement to access the data. Audit records show Flock (one of the many surveillance technology providers used in Thornton) data has been misused for immigration enforcement, tracking of abortion-seekers, and even stalking. And, data security experts have found significant technical vulnerabilities in the system, leaving everyone’s data at risk of exposure. Thornton For All works to defend the civil liberties of all members of our community by advocating for commonsense guardrails and limits on systems that collect residents’ data.
We stand with our immigrant neighbors and value the cultures and contributions that they bring to this community. By partnering with the local Thornton High School Newcomer Center, we aim to provide tangible resources to families who are establishing themselves in our city. We advocate for local and state-level policy that protects and respects our immigrant neighbors, and strive to educate the community on ways we can all stand up to inhumane policies and actions.
We believe our community is healthiest when all members have a chance to thrive. We are actively seeking to partner on projects that provide opportunities and resources for those experiencing food or housing insecurity. We support policies that promote the dignity and wellbeing of all of our neighbors, and seek to assist in making Thornton a sustainable home for all of our neighbors.
There are many ways to make your voice heard! You can:
Contact your local officials: Send emails to the Mayor and ALL City Council members to let them know how you feel about mass surveillance.
Show up: Attend our community meetings at the Thornton Community Center, or join us to provide public comment at upcoming Thornton City Council meetings and planning sessions.
Volunteer: join one or more of our project committees
The Protecting Everyone from Excessive Police Surveillance (PEEPS) Act is a piece of state-level legislation that we actively support. It puts strong due-process and accountability guardrails on government access to historical location data collected by ALPRs. Crucially, it generally requires a judicial warrant before an agency can access these databases, restricts data sharing to private third parties, and enforces strict data retention limits.
